If the wooden rocking horse is getting a little old-fashioned, KOTA the triceratops will have your kids riding and rocking again in no time.

Playskool has recently announced five new toys to celebrate its 80th anniversary, with KOTA featuring the latest in animatronics for pre-schoolers. The 40-inch-long baby dinosaur "comes to life" by reacting to touch and sound, as well as roaring and moving like a real dinosaur.

The giant baby features sensors in 11 areas on its body, and reacts to touch by moving its head, tail, and horns. And, "like a good friend," KOTA roars back when spoken to. Kids can also feed the dino leaf greens, which it will munch right up, demonstrating the importance of eating one's vegetables (sort of).

And, of course, kids can also ride KOTA in a spring-loaded seat, while holding onto a handle hidden beneath the animal's head. KOTA also makes "fun jungle sounds" while being ridden, and can play adventure-themed songs while carrying kids on their prehistoric journey.

KOTA requires six D batteries (not included), and is expected to go on sale this October for around $300.
